Since then, the company has more than doubled revenues each year, has more than 100 employees, and has attracted $15M in Venture Capital funds from the firm that backed Skype, LinkedIn, and Yelp.

Steve Zahm‘s professional goal is to create and grow profitable companies. He has successful experience founding, growing and managing cloud-based software companies to profitability. He has a background raising multiple rounds of significant angel and venture funding, in addition to growing an organization from concept and business plan through a successful IPO. Steve’s profession has grown significantly from day-to-day operations, financial management, marketing and executive-level sales. His specialties include, being a founder of one of the first large-scale software-as-a-service Internet companies (DTHK); business development, marketing, sales; and being a University lecturer on creating market and customer-validated business models.
Mike Sheldon is President and CEO of Curvature. Mike began his career at Curvature in 2001 as Vice President of Sales, and was named CEO in January 2006. Under his leadership, Curvature continues to post record revenues and expand operations – now employing more than 500 people in the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Prior to joining Curvature, Sheldon had a successful career in investment banking with UBS and Barclay’s Capital in New York. Sheldon is a graduate of MIT, where he studied Philosophy and Game Theory. He was recently named one of the most influential business leaders by the Pacific Coast Business Times. Sheldon is highly active in the central coast technology community, and encourages Curvature’s involvement in fostering technological education in the area.
Mike Franco is Co-founder and CEO of Riptide IO. Mike overseas the operations of the business. He has 20 years experience as a technology executive — leading teams in product, project and program management. This is his 3rd technology start-up – with each previous tour-of-duty resulting in a successful exit. Previous to Riptide IO, he managed the international services team for Cisco Systems Smart+ Connected Buildings.
Mike is a native of Santa Barbara and is often found catching waves down the street from his house in his free time. When the surf is small, he will resort to sessions of fantasy golf.
Brian Plackis-Cheng is the Founder and CEO of cielo24, a leading searchable captioning and media data company. cielo24 is an on demand media refinery providing high quality searchable media data including indexes, transcripts and captions databases for large media companies like Coursera, Lynda.com and Yahoo in the online education, enterprise, media and entertainment markets. Brian has over twenty-five years of international management experience, including public and private company leadership, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, recapitalizations, and venture stage investing. He has a proven track record managing startups through dramatic revenue growth, financing, acquisitions, and IPO¹s. Brian was the Americas and EMEA GM at Software.com managing the business through hyper growth, IPO and $6.8B transaction. He raised over $50M in venture financing for Blue Casa, and delivered successive $50M revenue quarters for the public software company Openwave.
