Loren McFarland rose to through the financial ranks of Mentor Corporation to become CFO/Treasurer. While at Mentor, he provided financial support and guidance as the company grew from $6 million to over $500 million in revenue. He was responsible for global financial reporting, tax and treasury operations including sales, research and manufacturing entities in the U.S. and eight foreign countries.
His experience as CFO/Treasurer provided a broad experience in decision support, Mergers and Acquisitions, and strategic initiatives. After 22 years with Mentor, Mr. McFarland founded his own consulting company, Santa Barbara Financial Services, LLC, which advises medical device, cosmetic and other early stage companies on their strategic decision support and financial needs.
His is also a member of the Board of Managing Members of Cure Medical, LLC, the Board of Directors of Inogen Inc (INGN) and the Parish Finance Council for St. Mark’s. His time is now spent as a consultant, informal advisor, and sometimes angel investor, to several businesses on the South Coast.
Mr. McFarland graduated with honors from the University of North Dakota, is an alumni of Touche Ross & Co. (now Deloitte), and is a graduate of the Anderson School of Management at UCLA (MBA 1999).
