About the Speakers
JACOB TELL, Founder & CEO, Oniracom
Jacob is Co-Founder and CEO of Oniracom. Oniracom uses social listening, consumer research, big data, and machine learning to help premium brands accelerate by better understanding their market ecosystem, their customers and their competitors.
Jacob co-founded Oniracom as a student at UCSB in 2001 and has partnered with Jack Johnson, the Santa Barbara Bowl, Universal Music, Hassell Studio, and the City of Canberra, among others.
BASSEM HAMDY, Founder & CEO, Briq
Bassem is a thought leader in the construction technology space with 20+ years of experience. Bassem first joined CMiC in the 1990s and was successful in helping construction companies migrate their systems from paper to software.
In 2015, Bassem was appointed EVP Marketing and Enterprise Strategy at Procore. In 2018, he founded Briq, an analytics platform that allows Contractors and Subcontractors to make better decisions before, during and after construction.
DENNIS ALLEN, Founder, Allen Construction
Dennis is a nationally recognized authority on environmentally friendly building practices with over 45+ years of experience. In 1983, he founded Allen Construction which has become the leading provider of responsible and high-quality construction in the Santa Barbara area with recent expansion to West Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura.
Dennis has served as a member of the County of Santa Barbara’s Innovative Building Review Program and chairs the Dean’s Council of the Bren Graduate School of Environmental Science and Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
JOSH BLUMER, Owner, AB design studio
Josh is an owner and Principal Architect at AB design studio based in Santa Barbara with offices in Los Angeles. Josh and fellow architect, Clay Aurell, co-founded AB design studio in 2005 after a decade long working internship under the influential mentorship of famed architect, Robin Donaldson of Shubin Donaldson Architects.
Josh has developed his career with a continual interest in and a practical application of emerging technologies relevant to the design process and architectural and construction technologies. Josh is a guest lecturer at California Polytechnic State University, an advisory board member at Santa Barbara High School’s Visual Arts & Design Academy (VADA), a board member on the Santa Barbara County Board of Architectural Review and a board member at the LEED Gold-certified MOXI, The Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation, one of the many award-winning projects completed by AB design studio.
MARK WEEKS, Group Product Manager, ServiceTitan
Boundless curiosity has lead Mark to acquire a wide range of professional and personal interests including product development and sustainability. Mark joined ServiceTitan in 2019 to lead product initiatives targeting growth opportunities in new markets. Prior to joining ServiceTitan, Mark developed products at Procore and served in various roles at several large engineering design and construction firms where he specialized in renewable energy.
Mark holds a master’s degree from the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at UCSB and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley. He is also affiliated with other Central Coast educational institutions, having graduated from Dos Pueblos High School in Goleta and studied at Santa Barbara City College.
