An Evening with Anant and Kevin Yardi
Yardi Systems was founded by Anant Yardi in Santa Barbara in 1982. Yardi is now in its fourth decade developing and supporting technology solutions for the real estate industry. Today Yardi is the largest real estate software provider in North America, with more than 5,500 staff in over 35 regional offices in North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australia. As one of the top employers in our area, Yardi has 700 staff in its Santa Barbara and Oxnard offices.
We will hear from Anant Yardi, President and Founder, and Kevin Yardi, Vice President, Client Services about the company’s formation, challenges and thoughts about the future.
The program will be moderated by Jill Feldman, Strategic Development Associates.
President & Founder, Yardi
Anant is the Founder and President of Yardi, launched in 1982. He has remained the President as Yardi became a leader in real estate asset and property management solutions. He has been recognized as one of the early pioneers in commercial real estate automation and has been the recipient of the Realcomm “Digie” award, the NAA Lifetime Achievement Award, and Glassdoor’s Employees’ Choice Award for Highest Ranked CEOs, among other accolades. Anant has an M.A. in Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and worked for 14 years developing programming methodologies and directing systems development at Burroughs Corporation prior to establishing Yardi.
Vice President, Client Services
Kevin is Vice President of Client Services at Yardi. He is responsible for support, services, and implementation for Yardi’s Commercial and Investment Management clients. In this role, Kevin acts as a global point of escalation on product and service topics. He works closely with Yardi product managers and developers to ensure that products meet the evolving demands of the marketplace, as well as with Yardi’s Client Services and Cloud Services teams to ensure the right level of client support. Kevin joined Yardi in 2012, prior to which he spent close to 10 years in the technology consulting sector at Deloitte and IBM. Kevin has a degree in Economics from Colby College.
Jill Feldman, President of Strategic Development Associates
Ms. Feldman founded SDA in 1997, following roles as Market Research Director and Marketing Director with AT&T Wireless Services and as Strategic Planning Manager with Verizon Wireless. Previously, Ms. Feldman was an Associate in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Merchant Banking Departments with Merrill Lynch Capital Markets and a Business Analyst with McKinsey & Company. Since 2008, Ms. Feldman has served on the faculty of University of California, Santa Barbara teaching courses in the College of Engineering’s Technology Management Program, and currently serves on the Board of MIT Enterprise Forum of the Central Coast. Ms. Feldman holds a BSE in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
