Reed Sheard

    Reed Sheard joined Westmont College in 2008 and serves as the Vice President for College Advancement and CIO. Dr. Sheard previously served at Spring Arbor University in Michigan as Vice President and CIO and at George Fox University in Oregon as an Assistant Professor of Leadership Studies. Prior to Reed’s time in Higher Education he worked at General Electric, Apple, Inc., Informix Software and helped start Consonus, Inc. which was the fastest growing IT company in Oregon 1999 and 2000.

    Dr. Sheard has authored a number of articles on innovation and technology while also serving on numerous boards. Reed has also led the Advancement department at Westmont since 2009 that has included overseeing two campaigns that have raised $83 Million and $155 Million dollars respectively.

    Westmont’s IT department was selected by InfoWorld for having one the top 100 IT Projects in 2009 and eCampus named Westmont as one of the top 12 IT departments among 3500 HIED institutions in 2013. In 2015 Computerworld/IDG named Reed as one of the top 100 IT leaders in the country. Other winners included the US Air Force, Whitehouse, Harvard Business School, American Cancer Society, Microsoft and UPS.
