Matthew is the founder of Tenor, a brand, marketing and communications strategy firm for private growth companies and investors in the private capital markets. Matthew has helped launch dozens of companies, products and services in consumer and enterprise markets, working with companies from two-person startups to Fortune 50 enterprises. His technology marketing experience spans enterprise software, telecommunications, consumer internet, consumer electronics and semiconductors.At Tenor, Matthew has a decade of experience in the venture capital market working with firms across the asset class from seed to growth stage funds, ranging from $100MM to $2B in assets under management. His private capital markets work includes the launch of two technology platforms for private company investing and strategic communications for several high-profile initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions. Matthew graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in English. He has taught courses at both San Francisco State University and Stanford University. He currently lectures on startup business strategy at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
