Craig R. Cummings

    Mr. Cummings is the Entrepreneur-in-Residence and a lecturer at the College of Engineering at UC Santa Barbara (UCSB). He lectures in courses on Entrepreneurship, “Lean Launch” for Start-ups, and Eco-Entrepreneurship. He also mentors student teams that participate in UCSB’s annual New Venture Competition.

    Recently, Mr. Cummings also became the CEO of Salty Girl Seafood, a start-up focused on the next day delivery of fresh, traceable, and sustainable seafood directly from the boat to any restaurant or fish market in the U.S. Mr. Cummings has founded or co-founded several technology-driven start-up companies, including one that executed a multi-billion dollar IPO, and one that was acquired for ~$650 million. His areas of technical expertise include advanced energy conversion technologies, electronic vision systems, field-portable secure wireless communication networks, and advanced sensor concepts.

    Mr. Cummings has served as a Trustee of both the UCSB Foundation and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund. He serves on the advisory board of the Technology Management Program (TMP) at UCSB and is a member of Tech Coast Angels. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Central Coast chapter of the MIT Enterprise Forum. Mr. Cummings holds engineering degrees from the University of California at Santa Barbara and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
